ART IN THE NATURE
Contemporary, and for everyone!
Art in the open air
In 1986 some pioneers had an intuition: to combine nature and contemporary art. In thirty years, this intuition has given rise to a permanent exhibition in the small valley of Sella, in which nature is not only the setting but also the protagonist, giving rise to an immediate beauty that everyone can appreciate.
This experience is based on four principles:
- The artist is not the absolute protagonist of the work of art, but accepts that nature completes his work.
- Nature must be defended as a treasure chest of memory.
- Nature is no longer only protected, but also interpreted in its absence: the relationship with ecology thus changes.
- The works are located in a hic et nunc and are constructed using natural materials. They emerge from the landscape, only to return to nature.
Incredible creations – Nature and / is Art
Not canvases and colors, not marble and chisel: ArteSella’s works are born in nature from nature: stone and wood, but also trees and plants, form the installations that seem to arise spontaneously thanks to the action of natural forces.
To these forces they remain exposed, changing just like the nature that surrounds them, or rather, together with it.
A walk in the green museum
Immersing yourself in nature on foot to reach the installations is an integral part of the experience of a visit to Arte Sella. More or less long walks will lead you through woods and pastures to discover these works and the environment in which they are inserted.
