The Castles<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

From Castel Ivano to Castel Pergine, passing through Castel Telvana, Castel Cucco, Castel Selva and the Torre dei Sicconi … some restored and become fascinating residences, restaurants or locations for events, others reduced to ruins, the castles dot the valley. From Levico you can also quickly reach real jewels such as the Buonconsiglio Castle in Trento, Castel Beseno near Rovereto and Castel Thun in Val di Non, whose visit is worth the short journey.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>

The fort<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>

Starting from the late nineteenth century, the Valsugana reveals its strategic importance as it is possible to access the city of Trento from Veneto in Italian hands. The Forte delle Benne, reachable from Levico with a short and panoramic walk, and the Forte di Tenna, were precisely part of the \u00abFortress of Trento\u00bb.<\/p>\n

The area of the Altipiani was instead fortified on the eve of the Great War with a continuous line of defensive structures (Pizzo, Cima Verle, Luserna, Cherle, Sommo Alto, Belvedere), protagonists of fierce fighting since the first days of the war of 1915, of which still bear the wounds. Today the best preserved Forte Belvedere houses a museum, while from the Forte del Pizzo you can enjoy a breathtaking view of Levico, Caldonazzo and the lakes.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

In Valsugana to discover history<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>

Most of the fortifications are today in elevated and panoramic positions, reachable with short walks or with trekking or mountain bike paths that allow a slow and careful discovery of the territory, among orchards, woods and rocks.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>
