From the valley floor to the highest peaks, there are numerous protected areas in the Valsugana area. Of great importance are the wet\/ marshy areas of the reeds of Levico, San Cristoforo and Brenta, the Piz\u00e8 and Inghiaie Biotopes and the Roncegno Marsh. Among the protected areas at high altitude, the WWF Oasis of Valtrigona should be mentioned, in the heart of the Lagorai.<\/p>\n

The protected areas boast particular ecosystems for biodiversity and for the presence of particular animal and plant species.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>

Ecosystems to be preserved – A delicate wealth<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>

Especially around the lakes and in the marshy areas there are areas whose balance must be protected to ensure the habitat suitable for many species of plants, amphibians (the very rare Salamandra Aurora survives in a very limited area in the Municipality of Levico) and birds such as the ‘Gray Heron.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

The mountain<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div>

The most important mountain areas are protected within the Stelvio National Park, the Adamello – Brenta Nature Park and the Paneveggio – Pale di San Martino Nature Park. The Lagorai chain, marginally covered by the latter, is however distinguished by being affected by very little anthropization. Far from the Dolomite routes of mass tourism, without ski lifts, crossable by car only along the Manghen Pass road, it offers an uncontaminated and remote alpine landscape in which often only the alpine huts with their pastures recall the presence of man.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>
